MySQLdb for python supports a vast array of cursor types but the one you will probably be the most interested in is DictCursor MySQLdb.cursors.DictCursor just issue import MySQLdb from MySQldb.cursors import * to get yourself setup. just issue

import MySQLdb
from MySQldb.cursors import *
